I also have accrued a small collection of Vintage children's hats and clothing that have come my way over the past few months. I bought this child mannequin from Niki some years ago when she had a stand at Shepton Mallet Antiques Fair. Most of my mannequins have names, and after meeting Jo I realised that I had never given this one a name. Now, I am never really sure whether this is a boy or a girl? So, was thinking "Bertie" might be a suitable choice as it could be short for Albert or Roberta. Any suggestions please. It really is about time the poor child had a name!
Anyway today the mannequin is modelling a funky selection of Vintage children's hats which I just could not resist.
A selection of some of the vintage dresses I will be taking to Ardingly and Frome in the next week. It is the big countdown until the Vintage Bazaar that Clare and I have organised in Frome in Somerset. For anybody who hasn't heard about it, just click on the word Frome above and it will take you to the blog!
As well as the above, I have some fantastic vintage silk scarves and cashmere jumpers..... alongside my usual rails of winter coats, baskets of hand knitted gloves, hats and scarves
Vintage Jacqmar scarf from the 1950's modelled by ??? Wots her name?

Hi Liz
I think she definitely looks like a Roberta or Mallory or George even (as in Georgina) she needs a tomboyish name as she looks like a bit of a tom boy (bit like me when I was younger!!) She is lovely. Andy and I always have a naming ceremony when a new Manni arrives!!
Jo xx
Just thinking of unisex names....Bobby? Georgie?
Very sweet hats & clothes Lizzie!
Hi Lizzie
Well, the woman's head looks like she should be called "Grace". And I love the name Bertie :-) If we'd had a birth son, I wanted to call him Herbert so that I could shorten it to Bertie - it's a perfect name!
Have a good week, and I hope the last minute organisation for Frome goes swimmingly.... see you there, early!

Enid!
I can't wait to get rummaging through your hats.
See you soon

Enid.
See you soon, looking forward to rummaging.

Charlie - could be short for Charlotte if it is a girl - or I love Harry - short for Harriet if its a girl - Harry Hat Stand !!! XXX
I think she looks like a girl and the name Dorothy would suit her. Gosh I can remember having a dress like the one with all the smocking!
Bobby!
S/he's lovely. I first thought it was a 'she' then realised it resembled one of my nephews when small. So, as you surmised it might be used for either sex when displaying head gear.
But definitely Bobby!
Head Girl ;)
Can't beat any of the names already suggested......... Love that smocked dress, I can remember having a white one for "best"!
She looks like something out of a child's book. Little Miss Muffet is just too much and I also like George (always wished I was called George from The Famous Five!). What about Jack or Jill, according to which hat he/she is wearing. Just discovered your blog after looking at others and have the feeling that I will go 'vintage' myself, you all have such gorgeous goodies to wear, keep or sell. Ann x
Hi Liz
Many thanks for mentioning us on your website - we really do love your site and your stock!
Zadie is now following you on Twitter, by the way.
Baby's name: how about Elsie or Edith? Ana and I feel she ought to have an old fashioned name. Looking forward to seeing you soon. Hope Ardingly went well; really sorry we couldn't make it. Love Terry, Violet Creams xxx
I very much hope your feet are up on a cosy cushion, that you have all the food and drink you fancy to hand, that there is some wonderful film to watch on TV and that you have the biggest, widest, brightest smug smile on your face !!!! The Bazaar was AMAZING - loved it soooooo very much! What a huge success you created = well done - now go and relax and be very proud !!! :-)
lots of love,
Denise x
Thanks for the comments.. sadly I have not put any feet up yet as just back from doing the BLind Lemon Vintage fair in Bristol... tomorrow is my day off! (Ha ha) Lizzie x
PS I am not on twitter.. so who is she following????
How about "jo" ? I always loved the book Little Woman and that name was so fittimg the character. She was definarly female but had a very tomboy attitude.
She looks like a Rebecca or "Beckie" to me.
