Calm........

Yesterday I took a break from things (sort of) and drove down to the coast to deliver a few goodies to a lovely lady who has a wonderful shop in Lyme Regis. If you are ever down that way, do make sure you visit a shop in Broad Street called Suzie Cole. It is packed to to the ceiling with scrummy things, spotty china, photo frames, jewellery, vintage knick-knacks and much much more....

Suzie was in the midst of redoing the window, so didn't feel I could start taking piccies, instead I took these peaceful shots along the coast at Charmouth. A real quirky old fashioned seaside.... and beautifully serene at this time of year......

I love Lyme Regis and was on this very beach in Charmouth this time last year for my 50th - we stayed at Stonebarrow Manor in Charmouth. It is a great base to explore this coastline and close to the Devon Border - Sidmouth is quaint too and we had a lovely afternoon wandering around the little shops there and had a cream tea on the seafront. Would love to go back there soon. Debbie x

I love the seaside, Lizzie.
I grew up along the shores of Lake Erie - one of the Great Lakes in America.
My husband was amazed when he first visited me at home because he had never seen a lake that large. It is so wide that you cannot see across to the other side like you can with most lakes here in the UK.
So a lake to me looks like an ocean to my husband. But no matter what you call it, I love it and miss it.
In order for us to visit the seaside, we must first travel to Wales and it takes so long to get there. (Although I do love it there - such rugged coastlines, gorgeous stone houses, and spectacular hydrangeas cascading over stone walls!)
In my hometown the lake was only 15 minutes away!
Thanks for sharing your gorgeous and peaceful images of the shoreline.

Thanks for your comments everyone. It was certainly the "calm before the storm"... I was selling all weekend, so have more to blog once I get a moment (and hopefully some good piccies from the dolls house fair yesterday)

Oooh lovely lovely Charmouth. I spent many happy holidays there as a girl as we had friends with a beach front house. I need to go and visit a friend who has just moved to Lyme so I will pop in and see Suzie. Glad you got a 'sort of' break. You deserve one lady x

Hi Lizzie,

I too adore the Suzie Cole shop in Lyme Regis... always packed to the hilt with must have goodies, although I'm always paranoid about knocking something off one of her beautifully staged displays.

Happy Easter Frances
