The Washerwoman

This week I have mostly been buying hats!

The title of this post reminds me of a character in the Fast Show from the 1990's, very silly but Jesse's diets made me laugh!
The collection of hats date mainly from before the 2nd World War.
Some of them even have their original shop tickets

Aren't they wonderful? My vintage mannequin is certainly enjoying trying them all on!

This coming weekend I am selling at the Exeter Flea market on Saturday, then at the Shepton Mallet Flea market at the Bath and West Showground on Sunday. I plan to bring a selection of these to both fairs. Hope to see some of you there?

Hi Lizie, I love all your gorgeous new, old hats. But if I could come to one of the fairs, especially the brownish one and the black hat with the white/black ribbon would be in danger. Unfortunately, or better, luckily, I'll have a stall at the Lostwithiel Festival on Sunday 16th. So the hats are safe. I'm sure they will find a new head.

Jessie's diets are my all time favs.
My goodness, the hats, I have never seen such a wonderful collection of the same dated hats in one place before...wonderful. All the best for your forthcoming Fairs. x

Great hats! Good to see you last weekend, got some good stuff, it paid to be 'controlled'!
My fave Jessies diet was "This week I have been mostly eating Bourbon Biscuits". Jane xx

Great hats. Be careful or you will end up like I did several years ago with over 250 of them. I finally scaled down to my favorite 20 but I have noticed I am already back up to 48 of them. I think they multiple on their own. Sea Witch

Gorgeous millinery creations Liz! Well done for buying so many! I have empty 'hat shelves' at the moment - it does seem that there is a resurgence for wearing the odd titfer again these days!

Loved your post's title - that is a family in-joke around here too...we're always saying 'today, I shall mostly be wearing yoghurt! Especially when one of us drops some down our fronts at meal times! ;-))

Hope to see you Sunday...if the weather forecast is reasonable, I may come to to try to sell, rather than buy!...but may have to seek you out so that I can look at those hats in the 'flesh'.

Oooh where did you get that hat?

Fabulous collection, I am sure they will sell well!

I will be at neither event sadly as I am housebound, getting my shop ready for next week's Open House. Good luck xx

What a brilliant purchase Liz. I bet there won't be many left to bring to Dairy House after Exeter and Shepton this weekend.
